"...and bless the man who invented sleep, a cloak to cover over all human thought, food that drives away hunger, water that banishes thirst, fire that heats up cold, chill that moderates passion and, finally universal currency with which all things can be bought, weight and balance that brings the shepherd and the king, the fool and the wise, to the same level." Visitors

Last week our friends, Jon and Kelly, came through for a visit. They flew in last Thursday morning and left on Sunday. Jon and Kelly are good friends from our church in Waco, TX. I cannot tell you how good it was to see them and spend time together. They are both so much fun to be around and we really had a great time with them.

They got to see a lot in the few days they were here. They ventured out on their own on Friay and did the Prado and the Royal Palace. Kelly knows quite a bit of Spanish and did so great using it around town. Here's a picture of them inside the Royal Palace.

Russ was finishing up his finals so he wasn't around much on Friday, but we did get to spend all day Saturday together. We all took the high speed train to Toledo for the day. It was hot and we got lost in the small back streets (something I think will always be the case no matter how often I visit there) but we did have fun being together. Here's a picture of us enjoying a much needed cold drink in the shade.

They left early Sunday morning for the South of Spain and will be coming back through Madrid for one evening before flying to Lisbon for a few days. We hope to get to see them on their way back through. It was such fun getting to hang out with them in Spain and really made us miss our community of friends in Waco. We are so thankful for their friendship!
